Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the gained 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which rose 3.11% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) added 2.85% or 0.01 points to end at 0.36 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:) was up 2.20% or 0.20 points to 9.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:), which fell 0.84% or 0.05 points to trade at 5.34 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 0.74% or 0.03 points to end at 3.38 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was down 0.59% or 0.03 points to 4.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.21% or 0.18 to $86.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $82.98 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.61% or 37.55 to trade at $2,370.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
