Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the rose 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 5.32% or 0.97 points to trade at 19.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) added 3.08% or 0.11 points to end at 3.55 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) was up 2.97% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were The Navigator Company SA (ELI:), which fell 0.36% or 0.01 points to trade at 3.87 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 0.22% or 0.01 points to end at 2.29 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 0.28% or 0.02 points to 5.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.64% or 1.39 to $86.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.79% or 1.46 to hit $83.00 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.45 to trade at $2,338.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 105.59.
