Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the added 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:), which rose 3.54% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) added 3.41% or 0.01 points to end at 0.37 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 2.76% or 0.09 points to 3.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) added 0.29% or 0.02 points to end at 7.00 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 0.59% or 0.03 points to 4.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 1 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.79% or 2.13 to $78.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.20% or 2.34 to hit $75.54 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 3.35 to trade at $2,434.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 103.01.
