Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the added 2.21%.
The best performers of the session on the were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:), which rose 9.73% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) added 8.24% or 1.36 points to end at 17.87 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was up 3.76% or 0.16 points to 4.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (ELI:), which fell 3.30% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.52 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:) declined 2.06% or 0.33 points to end at 15.67 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:) was down 1.60% or 0.08 points to 4.97.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 9.73% or 0.04 to 0.46.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.62% or 0.45 to $72.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.73% or 0.50 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.75% or 49.10 to trade at $2,751.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.02.
