Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the fell 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:), which rose 1.26% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:) added 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.32 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) was up 0.59% or 0.08 points to 13.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (ELI:), which fell 1.09% or 0.16 points to trade at 14.56 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) declined 1.07% or 0.05 points to end at 4.16 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) was down 0.85% or 0.03 points to 3.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.21% or 0.18 to $87.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.36% or 0.30 to hit $84.18 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.06% or 25.00 to trade at $2,394.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 104.64.
