Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:), which rose 1.71% or 0.14 points to trade at 8.33 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) added 1.27% or 0.11 points to end at 8.79 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was up 0.87% or 0.05 points to 5.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:), which fell 4.38% or 0.38 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 0.92% or 0.03 points to end at 3.00 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) was down 0.84% or 0.16 points to 18.79.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 12 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 0.87% or 0.05 to 5.83.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.05% or 0.04 to $78.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.39% or 0.29 to hit $74.33 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.57% or 15.66 to trade at $2,780.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.99% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 107.04.
