Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 4.56% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) added 3.76% or 0.01 points to end at 0.33 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was up 0.47% or 0.02 points to 4.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:), which fell 1.33% or 0.26 points to trade at 19.34 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) declined 1.17% or 0.16 points to end at 13.55 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:) was down 0.89% or 0.03 points to 3.33.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.05 to $85.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $80.65 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.95 to trade at $2,344.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.82.
