Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the declined 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:), which rose 2.71% or 0.43 points to trade at 16.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) added 1.77% or 0.33 points to end at 18.93 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) was up 1.33% or 0.10 points to 7.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:), which fell 10.47% or 0.32 points to trade at 2.74 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) declined 2.37% or 0.01 points to end at 0.46 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) was down 1.96% or 0.20 points to 9.76.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.85% or 0.65 to $76.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.82% or 0.60 to hit $74.16 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 18.94 to trade at $2,666.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.30.
