Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the lost 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 3.26% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.68 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) added 1.85% or 0.26 points to end at 14.32 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) was up 1.23% or 0.05 points to 3.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:), which fell 5.92% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.01 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 4.42% or 0.72 points to end at 15.58 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) was down 2.23% or 0.16 points to 7.02.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.42% or 0.72 to 15.58.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.55% or 1.28 to $81.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.46% or 1.14 to hit $77.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.31% or 30.90 to trade at $2,384.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
