Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:), which rose 4.55% or 0.38 points to trade at 8.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI:) added 4.50% or 0.25 points to end at 5.69 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:) was up 3.00% or 0.24 points to 8.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which fell 4.81% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.82 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) declined 3.55% or 0.11 points to end at 2.96 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:) was down 1.07% or 0.03 points to 2.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in Altri SGPS SA (ELI:) rose to all time highs; up 4.50% or 0.25 to 5.69. Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.55% or 0.11 to 2.96.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $79.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 10.11 to trade at $2,769.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 108.03.
