Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the gained 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the were PhosAgro ao (MCX:), which rose 4.02% or 223.00 points to trade at 5,769.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank VTB PAO (MCX:) added 3.55% or 3.42 points to end at 99.75 and Aeroflot (MCX:) was up 3.38% or 1.90 points to 58.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Severstal – ao (MCX:), which fell 2.77% or 41.60 points to trade at 1,461.20 at the close. Rostelekom PAO (MCX:) declined 1.66% or 1.45 points to end at 86.08 and PIK (MCX:) was down 1.45% or 12.60 points to 859.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 165 to 79 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank VTB PAO (MCX:) rose to all time highs; rising 3.55% or 3.42 to 99.75.
The , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.66% to 27.37.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.04% or 1.00 to $2,398.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.51% or 0.40 to hit $78.24 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $82.29 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 87.84, while EUR/RUB fell 0.02% to 95.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.02.
