Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the added 0.72% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were ArcelorMittal SA (BME:), which rose 2.71% or 0.57 points to trade at 21.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:) added 2.49% or 2.10 points to end at 86.30 and Bankinter (BME:) was up 2.48% or 0.19 points to 7.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (BME:), which fell 1.91% or 0.19 points to trade at 9.83 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:) declined 1.85% or 0.04 points to end at 2.07 and Sacyr SA (BME:) was down 1.22% or 0.04 points to 3.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 141 to 63 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 4.15 to $2,417.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $82.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.16 to trade at $85.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 103.81.
