Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the rose 1.11% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:), which rose 2.91% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.44 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (BME:) added 2.19% or 0.45 points to end at 20.96 and Fluidra (BME:) was up 2.17% or 0.46 points to 21.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merlin Properties SA (BME:), which fell 1.86% or 0.22 points to trade at 11.59 at the close. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:) declined 1.27% or 0.95 points to end at 74.00 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:) was down 0.93% or 0.06 points to 6.37.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 117 to 80 and 21 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.74% or 19.30 to $2,589.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.70% or 1.17 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 1.01 to trade at $73.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 100.61.
