Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the gained 1.32%.
The best performers of the session on the were Grifols SA (BME:), which rose 5.81% or 0.46 points to trade at 8.42 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:) added 5.39% or 0.10 points to end at 2.04 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:) was up 2.34% or 0.04 points to 1.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:), which fell 1.62% or 1.40 points to trade at 84.95 at the close. Repsol (BME:) declined 1.39% or 0.21 points to end at 14.92 and Bankinter (BME:) was down 0.68% or 0.05 points to 7.59.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 142 to 56 and 25 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.62% or 37.85 to $2,371.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $82.98 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.18 to trade at $86.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
