Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the added 1.59%.
The best performers of the session on the were Enagas (BME:), which rose 6.27% or 0.80 points to trade at 13.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (BME:) added 4.76% or 0.46 points to end at 10.12 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:) was up 3.63% or 0.07 points to 2.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melia Hotels (BME:), which fell 0.54% or 0.04 points to trade at 7.33 at the close. Bankinter (BME:) declined 0.26% or 0.02 points to end at 7.54 and Fluidra (BME:) was up 0.10% or 0.02 points to 19.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 138 to 46 and 34 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.78% or 18.45 to $2,386.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.24% or 1.01 to hit $82.42 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.78 to trade at $85.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.73.
