The best performers of the session on the were Powertech Industrial Co Ltd (TW:), which rose 9.98% or 2.90 points to trade at 31.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Infortrend Technology Inc (TW:) added 9.97% or 2.95 points to end at 32.55 and Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:) was up 9.94% or 3.20 points to 35.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lead Data Inc (TW:), which fell 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:) declined 7.08% or 23.00 points to end at 302.00 and Transcend Information Inc (TW:) was down 5.74% or 7.00 points to 115.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Powertech Industrial Co Ltd (TW:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.98% or 2.90 to 31.95. Shares in Infortrend Technology Inc (TW:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 9.97% or 2.95 to 32.55. Shares in Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.94% or 3.20 to 35.40.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.54% or 0.44 to $81.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.54% or 0.46 to hit $85.46 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 7.20 to trade at $2,332.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 32.51, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.04% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 105.19.
