Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The best performers of the session on the were Elite Advanced Laser Corp (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 12.50 points to trade at 137.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Uniform Industrial Corp (TW:) added 10.00% or 4.00 points to end at 44.00 and AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:) was up 9.99% or 4.75 points to 52.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lead Data Inc (TW:), which fell 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Getac Technology Corp (TW:) declined 7.97% or 10.00 points to end at 115.50 and Primax Electronics Ltd (TW:) was down 7.54% or 7.00 points to 85.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Elite Advanced Laser Corp (TW:) rose to all time highs; rising 10.00% or 12.50 to 137.50.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.64% or 0.54 to $83.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.56% or 0.49 to hit $86.85 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 4.20 to trade at $2,365.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.19% to 32.55, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.22% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 105.00.
