Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Fortune Oriental Co Ltd (TW:), which rose 9.72% or 1.20 points to trade at 13.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:) added 8.48% or 2.80 points to end at 35.80 and Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW:) was up 7.63% or 2.85 points to 40.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW:), which fell 10.00% or 4.55 points to trade at 40.95 at the close. JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:) declined 7.40% or 7.40 points to end at 92.60 and Fortune Information Systems Corp (TW:) was down 7.28% or 1.95 points to 24.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 10.00% or 4.55 to 40.95. Shares in Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 7.63% or 2.85 to 40.20.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.26% or 0.19 to $71.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $74.81 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 3.85 to trade at $2,644.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.02% to 32.86, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.05% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 108.19.
