Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the gained 1.28% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were NatWest Group PLC (LON:), which rose 7.04% or 23.80 points to trade at 361.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Anglo American PLC (LON:) added 5.08% or 115.00 points to end at 2,380.00 and Intertek Group PLC (LON:) was up 4.26% or 205.00 points to 5,015.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Segro Plc (LON:), which fell 1.68% or 15.20 points to trade at 892.00 at the close. Rightmove PLC (LON:) declined 1.41% or 8.00 points to end at 560.00 and Pershing Square Holdings Ltd (LON:) was down 1.20% or 46.00 points to 3,774.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1277 to 523 and 679 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.30% or 30.70 to $2,384.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.49% or 1.17 to hit $77.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.58% or 1.30 to trade at $81.07 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.04.
