The best performers of the session on the were Nike Inc (NYSE:), which rose 2.98% or 2.17 points to trade at 74.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Salesforce Inc (NYSE:) added 2.60% or 6.45 points to end at 254.08 and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) was up 1.40% or 4.64 points to 335.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:), which fell 6.08% or 2.53 points to trade at 39.09 at the close. Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) declined 1.68% or 1.61 points to end at 94.13 and Chevron Corp (NYSE:) was down 1.36% or 2.16 points to 156.99.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were IQVIA Holdings Inc (NYSE:) which rose 9.20% to 245.23, ON Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was up 6.62% to settle at 77.33 and Lam Research Corp (NASDAQ:) which gained 6.54% to close at 977.06.
The worst performers were Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:) which was down 6.08% to 39.09 in late trade, Air Products and Chemicals Inc (NYSE:) which lost 5.46% to settle at 248.55 and Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:) which was down 3.54% to 43.83 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Mira Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 627.35% to 5.01, CareMax Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 228.48% to settle at 5.19 and Nukkleus Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 55.63% to close at 0.50.
The worst performers were Crown LNG Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 29.08% to 1.00 in late trade, Linkage Global Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 28.52% to settle at 3.66 and Golden Sun Education Group Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 23.66% to 5.13 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2106 to 710 and 99 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2365 rose and 1004 declined, while 107 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.40% or 4.64 to 335.93. Shares in Crown LNG Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 29.08% or 0.41 to 1.00.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.03% or 0.65 to $2,399.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $78.36 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.24 to trade at $82.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while USD/JPY fell 0.26% to 157.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.05.
