The top performers on the S&P 500 were Albemarle Corp (NYSE:) which rose 4.95% to 98.14, Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) which was up 4.83% to settle at 21.92 and Steel Dynamics Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 4.74% to close at 135.72.
The worst performers were APA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 4.51% to 23.70 in late trade, Centene Corp (NYSE:) which lost 3.97% to settle at 61.67 and ResMed Inc (NYSE:) which was down 3.65% to 246.73 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Saverone 2014 Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which rose 2,118.09% to 1.79, Avalon Globocare Corp (NASDAQ:) which was up 1,769.57% to settle at 4.30 and Kazia Therapeutics Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which gained 796.15% to close at 4.66.
The worst performers were SMX Security Matters Ord Shs Class A (NASDAQ:) which was down 65.47% to 0.48 in late trade, Digital Brands Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 34.04% to settle at 0.16 and Purple Biotech (NASDAQ:) which was down 25.12% to 3.07 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1849 to 956 and 78 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2259 rose and 1047 declined, while 120 ended unchanged.
