Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NYSE, the gained 1.04%, while the index climbed 1.68%, and the index gained 2.40%.
The best performers of the session on the were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:), which rose 5.73% or 1.11 points to trade at 20.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Nike Inc (NYSE:) added 5.16% or 3.85 points to end at 78.49 and Boeing Co (NYSE:) was up 2.82% or 4.63 points to 168.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:), which fell 0.94% or 1.51 points to trade at 158.39 at the close. Walmart Inc (NYSE:) declined 0.83% or 0.57 points to end at 68.13 and Chevron Corp (NYSE:) was down 0.61% or 0.88 points to 144.15.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 24.50% to 95.91, VF Corporation (NYSE:) which was up 7.41% to settle at 17.80 and Estee Lauder Companies Inc (NYSE:) which gained 6.64% to close at 91.93.
The worst performers were Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc (NYSE:) which was down 7.50% to 51.68 in late trade, Baxter International Inc (NYSE:) which lost 6.53% to settle at 34.51 and Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 3.87% to 119.72 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Shuttle Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which fell 15.72% to 2.00, Earlyworks Co Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which was up 175.00% to settle at 4.40 and Vicinity Motor Corp (NASDAQ:) which gained 110.06% to close at 0.21.
The worst performers were E-Home Household Service Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 88.55% to 0.15 in late trade, Syros Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 61.68% to settle at 1.92 and Ascent Solar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 42.75% to 0.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2242 to 623 and 57 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2337 rose and 992 declined, while 131 ended unchanged.

Shares in E-Home Household Service Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 88.55% or 1.16 to 0.15. Shares in Syros Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 61.68% or 3.09 to 1.92. Shares in Ascent Solar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 42.75% or 0.03 to 0.05.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 3.10 to $2,507.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.82% or 1.46 to hit $78.60 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 1.42 to trade at $80.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.10, while USD/JPY fell 0.25% to 146.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 102.41.
