HOUSTON, TX (1-minute read) — A home invasion in southwest Houston resulted in one suspect being critically injured after an exchange of gunfire on Friday night.
Lieutenant Riley of the Houston Police Department reported that a woman called for help when she noticed four to five men with rifles outside her home on Beechnut Street, aggressively banging on her door.
The intruders managed to break into the residence, leading to a shootout between them and the home’s occupants. According to Lt. Riley, one of the suspects was hit multiple times in the head and was subsequently rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, none of the home’s residents were harmed during the incident.
The Houston Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation to piece together the events and ensure the community’s safety.
