Yesterday we wrote that Civivi has made fixed blades a major priority this year, with a handful of models on the way for the back half of 2026. Sister brand We Knife Co. doesn’t have a stacked fixie release schedule but it’s definitely getting in on the action with the incoming Notchline.

The High Grass, the Civivi label fixed blade we covered yesterday, came from Matt Gentry, a custom maker collaborator. Like the first collaboration piece between Gentry and Civivi, the Gander, the High Grass was designed for outdoors use, but it approached that use category from an interesting angle. Instead of super robust characteristics, Gentry gave us something compact and refined, that can approach light- to mid-weight outdoors cutting with finesse.

Bob Terzuola’s T-Clip makes another appearance in the WE lineup

Meanwhile the Notchline is from the We Knife Co. in-house team, and sports a bigger blade, measuring in at 3.45 inches. Size aside, its drop point is wider as well – although it does share one trait with the High Grass: a second section of jimping further up on the spine for enhanced cut control. When it comes to steel, We Knife Co. rarely deviates from its old standby, M390, but the Notchline, in its prototypes anyway, is one of the rare exceptions, with S35VN implemented instead.

Another rare sight in the larger knife world is a fixed blade with anything too crazy going on with its handle. The Notchline does not buck this trend with a classically contoured, linear profile, with machined scales laid on the full tang frame to fill out the grip. Two different fancy carbon fiber options have been seen on the prototype Notchlines; both variations weigh 4.55 oz. and comes with a Kydex sheath and T-Clip.

The Notchline is coming down the pike, but there’s no set release date at this time.
