“Lioness” star Michael Kelly sent fans into a frenzy after announcing he is joining the cast of “Landman” for season three.
The 57-year-old actor shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of a Variety article announcing his casting and writing, “I’ve been biting my tongue yall!!!!”
“I am beyond thrilled and excited to be joining the incredible cast over on @landmanpplus on @paramountplus,” he wrote. “Thank you to Taylor and everyone for letting me join the party!! #landman #oil #williamcrockett #paramountplus.”
According to the press release, Kelly will portray William Crockett, who is described as a “titan” of the oil industry and the leader of the world’s largest oil management firm.

Stars from the Taylor Sheridan universe came out in full force in the comments to show their excitement.

“Lioness” and “1883” star LaMonica Garrett commented, “BOOM!!!!🔥🔥🔥”
James Jordan, who stars in “Landman” and “Lioness,” commented, “Yesssss.”

Kelly currently plays Byron Westfield, the CIA’s deputy director, in “Lioness.” The show is in its third season.
During a recent interview with ScreenRant in August, Kelly called Sheridan “one of the greatest storytellers” and said he would take any opportunity to work with him.
“I’ve never thought about how the shows could cross over, but I have told Taylor, I’m like, ‘Bro, anything you ever want me to do, I’ll do. I love being in Texas. I love saying your words,'” he said. “I think he’s truly a standalone talent. There’s nobody who’s doing or has ever done what he’s doing. It’s incredible what he does. And he’s just one of the smartest dudes you’ll ever meet. He’s fricking brilliant, man. Brilliant.”
