LIV Golf is hosting its New York event at President Donald Trump’s National Golf Club Bedminster.
It’s the third time that the upstart tour has held an event at one of the president’s golf clubs.
As was the case at one previous event, President Trump himself was on hand to check things out.

According to The New York Post, the commander-in-chief received a big ovation from spectators as he drove a golf cart along the course.
It’s always interesting to hear how Trump is received at various sporting events, but you can usually make a pretty good guess.
UFC fight? Huge ovation.
College football game? Big ovation.
Knicks playoff game? Boos.
So, I think it would’ve been kind of odd if he had been greeted with anything other than cheers at his own golf club.
Of course, the president being on hand for this weekend’s event is a big deal for LIV Golf, which is going through an interesting time at the moment.
There was a time when it was a real question as to whether or not the tour would survive beyond 2026. Back in April, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced that it would no longer fund the tour.

That’s a huge problem, seeing as the PIF was LIV’s only funder.
However, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil announced this week that the tour has an as-yet-unnamed investor lined up.
“LIV Golf has an agreement in place with a lead investor, signed by the investor and approved by the Board, to anchor the transaction and play a key role in supporting the path forward for the League’s next era, driven by and for the players,” O’Neil said.
