Here’s the good news — Shohei Ohtani took home an ESPY award Wednesday night for the best single-game performance of the year.

Rightfully so, too. The Los Angeles Dodgers star hit three home runs and struck out 10 in Game 4 of the NLDS last fall. That award was always going to go to Ohtani. It was arguably the greatest playoff performance ever. We may never see it again.

Anyway, like I said, that’s the good news.

The bad news?

Mike Tyson, who presented an absent Ohtani with the award during Wednesday night’s show, had no idea Shohei was a man until after the fact.

That’s right.

Mike Tyson found out just last night that the best player in Major League Baseball was, indeed, not a woman on stage at the ESPYs.

Take a look:

Mike Tyson is not a baseball fan, apparently

“And the ESPY award goes to — check this out — Shohei Ohtani,” a proud Tyson exclaimed after correctly saying Shohei’s name.

“Shohei’s a guy?” he then asked Jake Paul with the innocence of a toddler on Christmas morning.

He literally had no idea. You can hear it in his voice. Mike Tyson is legitimately stunned to discover that Shohei Ohtani is a guy. He had no idea. None. Zero. Zilch.

“Shohei could not be here tonight, he sends his gratitude and appreciate to everyone at ESPN,” Jake Paul then said, letting the cat out of the bag for Tyson, who immediately turned to him and asked if he was, indeed, a guy.

“Yeah, he’s a guy. He’s a guy,” Paul responded.

Amazing. What a sequence. What a show.

Between Tyson having no clue who Shohei Ohtani was, to the Savannah Bananas opening the show with one of the weirdest performances you’ll ever see,to some comedian I’ve never heard of telling just an awful Tiger Woods joke, I’d say this year’s ESPYs was another rousing success for ESPN!

And by that, I mean another dumpster fire that nobody watched.

Sad.
