Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, was hospitalized Sunday morning near Toledo following a hit-and-run crash that also left another person injured, police told Fox News Digital.
Kaptur was on her way to church when the wreck happened, her office said in a statement.
She suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.
“This morning, Congresswoman Kaptur was a passenger in a vehicle on her way to a church service when the car she was traveling in was struck. She is active, alert, and being treated for non-life threatening injuries,” her office said.

The Toledo Police Department told Fox News Digital the “hit-skip crash” happened at about 10:48 a.m. local time at the intersection of North Detroit and Central avenues.
The second person involved was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were also not life-threatening, according to authorities.
The investigation remains in its early stages, police said.
It is unclear if any suspects have been identified, or if there have been any arrests.
In a statement posted on X, Kaptur praised the police and fire departments for their quick response to the scene.
“We look forward to additional information from Toledo Police as they investigate the accident,” the statement read.
“Congresswoman Kaptur is thankful for the quick actions of first responders from Toledo Police and Fire Departments who arrived promptly on scene, and the medical professionals helping to take care of those involved in the crash.”

Hundreds of Kaptur’s constituents reportedly reached out to the congresswoman following the incident.
“She expressed her deep gratitude to the hundreds of constituents who have reached out and looks forward to returning to a full schedule soon,” her office said.
