The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has expanded access to the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine, as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. simultaneously endorses a new option for meningococcal vaccination. This news comes after Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr. ousted the CDC’s entire vaccine panel.

These recommendations were made months ago, before the panel’s ouster. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended both measures before RFK Jr. removed all members of the vaccine panel in order to “restore trust” in the ruling class’s vaccine advice.

In an op-ed published on Monday in the Wall Street Journal (as reported by The Children’s Health Defense), Kennedy claimed that the panel has “a history of conflicts of interest, persecution of dissidents, a lack of curiosity, and skewed science.” The problem isn’t necessarily that ACIP members are corrupt. Most likely aim to serve the public interest as they understand it,” Kennedy wrote. “The problem is their immersion in a system of industry-aligned incentives and paradigms that enforce a narrow pro-industry orthodoxy.” –SHTFPlan

According to a report by Medscape, a notice appeared on the CDC’s website earlier this week, detailing the recommendations from the April ACIP meeting. “With no current CDC Director and pending confirmation of a new CDC Director, this recommendation was adopted by the HHS Secretary on June 25, 2025, and is now an official recommendation of the CDC.”

The new RSV recommendation suggests a single dose of the vaccine for adults aged 50 to 59 years who are allegedly at an increased risk of severe RSV disease. ACIP had made the recommendation in a 14-0 vote, with one abstention. Patients should receive any RSV vaccine marketed toward their age group. That raises an interesting question: why are vaccines being modified across different age groups? Isn’t the virus the same regardless of age?

Unfortunately, the more things change, the more they seem to stay the same. Do you consider this a “flip-flop” by RFK Jr.? Explain and join the discussion in the comments.
